The Rapid City Library Foundation is dedicated to making the Library a place that stirs the imagination of children, ignites the creativity of adults, and keeps vibrant the minds of community elders.
Foundation Goals
1) Enable access to information for all citizens in the community and the surrounding region.
2) Enable the library to serve as a center of learning activities for all ages and abilities.
3) Enable the expansion of library services to the community by using existing outcome channels and by creating new service alliances
Invest in Imagination and Ideas
Libraries make visions possible, but not without our active support. As the Information Revolution continues, people in our community will depend more and more on knowledge for their livelihood. The Library is a critical piece of our economic infrastructure. To keep pace, however, the Library will need to invest in new technology, develop new services, and expand its facilities to reach all of the people of Rapid City.
Your tax-deductible gift to the Library Foundation will help ensure the future for ideas and imagination in our Black Hills community. Find our How You Can Help.
Please join us in our efforts to bring together the resources of our community to enhance our public library. We strive to provide access to knowledge and enhance the quality of the library as a learning center for people of all ages.
Book in hand, a teenager sits in the sunlight imagining a world she has never known. Like a road to the horizon, her imagination carries her to times past and in the future. She is learning how the world is made, why people treat one another as they do, how plants grow towards the sun, and leaders inspire their generation. These lessons shape a personal imagination and the vision of her generation.
Libraries make this kind of vision possible, but not without our active support. As the Information Revolution continues, more people in our community will depend for their livelihoods on knowledge. The Library is a critical piece of our economic infrastructure – as important to our age as railroads and highways were to times past. To keep pace, the Library will need to invest in new technology, develop new services, and expand its facilities to reach all of the people of Rapid City.
