Success Stories

The young couple had been up all night contemplating what to do. Somewhere in their internet search for information on pregnancy testing and abortion, they came across an ad for Bella.
The next day they made the call. Although we couldn’t help them with an abortion or an abortion referral, we could provide other things they were looking for: Confirmation of pregnancy and information on options.
The young woman wasn’t supposed to be able to get pregnant, so if she was, they were certain something would be wrong with the baby. Besides, they couldn’t envision themselves as parents because it wasn’t a good time. Abortion seemed like the most reasonable option.
The test at Bella was positive. Both were upset. How could this be? Not only did medical problems make it impossible for pregnancy, but the young woman was on birth control to regulate periods. Could the test be wrong? Ultrasound would confirm that it wasn’t. They were clearly in crisis. As the nurse sonographer began the ultrasound and took her sweeps, the young man was full of questions. What’s that? What are you seeing? Is everything alright? What are those two black round things? The young woman remained silent, caught up in her own thoughts. The nurse sonographer very gently walked them through the process, explaining that once her sweeps were complete and measurements taken, she would explain everything she was seeing.
The young couple braced themselves as the nurse sonographer began to tell them that she wasn’t seeing what she had expected to see. They feared their worse nightmare had come true. But as the nurse sonographer went on, she clarified that the young woman wasn’t as far along as calculated prior to the ultrasound, AND...she wasn’t seeing one yolk sac with a developing embryo, but two.
What!?! They hadn’t expected this. Two babies? Twins?!? As the magnitude of their miracles began to add up, their hearts were softened and the young couple began to see themselves as parents.
Eight months later, their new vision came to pass: Two beautiful babies born perfectly formed and healthy in every way. Once again, Bella had made the difference.
